  Testimony card returns

  old timers, or careful readers of the proclaimers book, are familiar with the "testimony card" used in the early days of rutherford-era door to door witnessing.

  the jw would traipse up to a house, knock, hand the card over to the householder, and wait while he read it.. well, it seems that "everything old is new again".

  In your memory, what was the nicest day you had out in field service?

  for me, that happy day was in morro bay, calif. it was the fall, oct 1958 or 9. gorgeous weather.

  the sun was shining and the wind was coming off of the ocean.. at that time, morro bay was unassigned territory.. talesin on another thread was talking about a lovely day she had, going with her grandfather, talking with a mr languages.

  My friend and I would leave an hour early.

  Stop off at a market and buy a can of beans, bread and a bag of wood.

  Pull off our ugly practical shoes , put on our mochasins and drive into the Red Woods.

  Smile, what dorks we were. Camping breaks in dresses.
